GNM (General Nursing & Midwifery)

The AS College and School of Nursing’s General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) programme is a thorough and lively course that teaches aspiring nurses the art and science of delivering high-quality medical care.

Our GNM programme equips students with the academic knowledge, practical training, and hands-on experience they need to become knowledgeable and sympathetic healthcare practitioners. Extensive clinical rotations in medical facilities are part of our GNM programme. Graduates can find work in healthcare facilities such as clinics, nursing homes, hospitals, and community health centers. Additionally, they have the option of pursuing advanced nursing education.

Eligibility Criteria

Age:

  1. Minimum age for admission is 17 years on December 31 of the admission year.

Minimum qualifications for admission are as per INC Regulation :

  1. The applicant has completed a 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized Board. Candidates from the State Open School recognized by GoUP and The National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by GoI are also eligible. However, science stream is preferable.
  2. The minimum educational requirements shall be 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from an institute recognized by Indian Nursing council or 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE affiliated school or is a registered ANM with required passing marks.
  3. For Foreign Nationals: The entry qualification equivalency, i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. U.P Nursing and Midwives council will be responsible for ensuring that the qualification and eligibility are equivalent to what has been prescribed above.
  4. The applicant shall be medically fit.
  5. The applicant shall be admitted once in a year.
